I’ve tried different weights and different types of yarn many times, but have never chosen to type up my opinion — until now (disclaimer: no, I am not knocking this yarn)
I am working on a light-weight blanket (loom knit) for my mom’s bed, and chose to order a skein of the new O’Go yarn (it’s the Caron one in the color Concord Crush). It’s a very nice yarn, don’t get me wrong and I do like it, but one thing that intrigued me to this line of yarn is it claims to be “tangle free”, which it is not.
Yes, it isn’t as tangled as others that I’ve used, but it does tangle. This yarn is separated out in four color blocks (which are noticeably tied together in the factory). Presently, I’m only on color #2 and it’s been tangled a couple times (though that was this section). Keep in mind, I use a big yarn tote to keep my yarn off the floor, so the yarn moving in the tote while I knit could factor into the possible tangles, and in the yarn’s defense, these have so far been loose very easy to remove tangles.
Would I recommend this yarn or buy again? Yes, absolutely. I do like the workability and texture of the yarn, and the tangles are something you get in just about all yarns (I’ve had tangles in others way worse than these).
One last note: Do not take this review as a way to dissuade the O’Go yarn, just know ahead of getting you may still get tangles
I know I don’t post personal family posts often, the blog is sometimes private bitching posts, but today will be an exception.
This morning, my mom fell down the last few stairs coming downstairs to take me to work. She’s been at the hospital since 10 am, was admitted and moved from the ER to a room. She broke her right ankle, they got it reducted, but she has to have surgery tomorrow morning.
I will never understand the fascination of puting gravy and meat on bread.
Bread should NEVER be soggy/wet/moist.
It’s been awhile coming, but now that it’s fully official, I feel I can post about it. At work I recently got a promotion! Instead of just being a Crew Member, I am now officially a Team Leader. What is that? Essentially it’s a manager in training, though this is the highest I want to be. Think of the positions in 3 tiers, lowest to highest — Crew – Team Leader – Management.
I posted about this yesterday on Facebook, and got a lot of congratulations comments and I’m very appreciative of these comments. Today even I got a couple more, one of which was from the author of the books I read! Yes! My author congratulated me on my work promotion!
I don’t always post, and specifically about vacation when in my head I mean to. Each year when we go to Cedar Point I always take photos (some with my camera and come with my phone, and with my phone I sometimes capture video as well) and I always upload them to Facebook then also to the gallery here.
This year went off without a hitch. The first day it did rain, but only sporadically and it wasn’t too bad. Usually when we get there and to the hotel we do the pre-check in (since check in isn’t until 4pm) and walk around the hotel a bit and go to it’s gift shop until we can head into the park for early entry. With the pre-check in you get your room keys then they text you when the room is ready and they tell you which room is your room).
After pre-check in and browsing the gift shop, when we could head into the park for early entry we did (the gate closest to the hotel is the back one, so we enter through there and walk to the front to rent and all day locker to hold the stuff we buy in the gift shops inside the park)
Throughout the two days at the park we did not encounter any problems or bad employees. The lines for food and rides were all spot-on and normal and all of the employees we encountered were friendly.
They only thing that we normally buy that we couldn’t was the taffy — they ran out! Hopefully when we go during HalloWeekends they’ll have the taffy.
My next vacation, however isn’t HalloWeekends. This month we’re going camping with my aunt and uncle from July 16-18 at KOA Shelby/Mansfield and I can’t wait! The photos I’ve seen of this resort are amazing.
Usually each summer for the final Tuesday-Wednesday in June, we stay at Hotel Breakers and go to Cedar Point. This year we’d planned the trip for June 22-23, but due to labor they will now not be open 8 specific days in June (the first 4 Tuesdays & Wednesdays), so we moved our reservation to Sunday & Monday (20-21).
Yesterday we had to work on Kaiser’s boarding….and found out he can’t board at the vets office while we’ll be gone 😕 . Go ahold of the groomer (thankfully she lives close and is a friend, and one of his favorite people) and she’ll take him while we’re gone 😀
FINALLY some progress! We called fitbit yesterday and supposedly would get an email by END OF BUSINESS, which never happened. Called today and come to find out (while talking to a SUPERVISOR) that the other agents NEVER created the replacement order! Less than five minutes, and we all got the order confirmation emails!
I bought an external hard drive (mostly because it’s space was a bargain for the price) and installed all 96 of my PC games to it + the program of Steam to it….and now Nancy Drew #33: Midnight In Salem won’t play off of it, then when I deleted it and tried to install it to my PC (figuring if I had to install ONE game and keep it on my laptop it wouldn’t be that bad), now the installer didn’t give me the installation location option
I let it reinstall to the drive and this time, it played off the drive. I even unplugged the drive and plugged it into another USB port and re-loaded the game and it loaded….so I guess that’s progress
This post is title as untitled because NO title would do today justice. Today has been such a big fuck you type of day.
First, I woke up to my mom’s fitbit sense not syncing. Then when the mail came, a 2-disc dvd I had ordered came BUT only disc 2 (the special features). Then when my sister came home, her fitbit wasn’t working.
Now, hers will only show a red x……so today, where I had planned to get a lot done today, the only thing I HAVE gotten done was use the new bottle cozie I got in the mail on my 20 ounce bottle of Orange coke.
the new Fitbit arrived today (a day early!) and all is well in the world, PLUS one of the app features that made the app crash before, now opens how it should
Yesterday I worked, it seamed like a normal Wednesday…until sometime in the 3 o’clock hour. I had a lady that came through drivethru and she asked me if we’re allowed to accept tips, and since there’s no rule against it, I said yes (thinking she was going to hand me $5 or less) but what she handed me totally surprised me.
A HUNDRED DOLLAR BILL, and she said she knows the weather can get a but icky this time of year and so can some people, but she likes to help where she can so she was hoping that would help me have a very Merry Christmas.
Yes, some times I get annoyed with the public, and HATE working drivethru, but that lady’s generosity is the epitome of what this time of year should be about.
I don’t actively post here often, but I do log in mostly daily. Merry Christmas!
