If you want to get ALL 40 golden moustaches, this link shows with photos where to find them all.
This is a walkthrough including all achievements. I logged my actions as I was playing and unlocked all achievements in one playthrough.
Checking for collectibles was always my first step in every location, followed by inspecting all objects usually in clockwise way.
Some achievements span across multiple chapters. They are shown every time they’re progressing.
Most of the missed achievements can be earned using Chapter Select menu. The only two exceptions are “My little grey cells did not let me down!” (Don’t use hints) and “A human lie detector!” (Don’t make mistakes during confrontations) which require a whole new playthrough.
I tried to provide accurate description of the locations of each golden moustache, however I’ve also prepared a separate guide with screenshots just in case:
Talk to Mr. Bouc.
Pick up the Golden Moustache (1/4) from between the railings to the right side of the stairs near the hotel entrance.
Collect all the golden moustaches. (1/40)

Inspect the water stain on the floor.
Inspect the wallet, papers on the floor (Saint Sophia Basilica), papers on the desk (Bosphorous Cruise), blue box on the desk (medal).
Inspect the desk itself and all four Drawers:
– top left: Instanbul brochure
– bottom right: Golden Moustache (4/4)

Inspect the open window, papers on the floor next to the bed (Bank statement), bed itself, earring on the right nightstand.
Enter the bathroom and check the bin (perfume bottle).
Select: A thief may have entered using a key card.
Leave the room, check rooms 410 and 412.
Talk to Captain Arbuthnot.
The window is wide open + There are scattered papers on the floor
The captain invited someone + An earring is on the bedside table
Answer: The middle one (the one we saw in the elevator).

Inspect the case on the table.
Open the case, inspect both scales.
Arrange the flasks: black, green, red, yellow, blue.
The clove is the third lightest flask which means it’s the red one.
Talk to Mr. Masterman.

Ratchett apparently spoke in French during the night of the murder. + Ratchett only speaks English.
Ratchett called Mr. Michel at 12.37 am. + It’s not Ratchett who spoke to Mr. Michel.
Select the middle one.
Mr. Michel is not at his post between 1 am and 1.20 am. + Ratchett’s watch is apparently broken at 1.15 am.

Once you’re in compartment 105 investigate the cup on the table.
Check the suitcase on the shelf to move it to the floor.
Investigate the suitcase on the right and the conductor’s jacket in it.
Investigate the briefcase on the right.
Rotate the dials and listen to a different sound indicating a correct digit.
After two digits Mr. Bouc will start talking constantly making in impossible to find the other three.
To avoid it once you find the correct digit on a dial remember it, set it back to 0, and move to the next dial.
The code is 86249.
Find the code to Joanna’s briefcase without asking Bouc to keep quiet.
Check all items in the briefcase: photo, Ratchett’s file, Driver’s license, gun, badge.
Finish chapter 2.
Check the case file on the seat. Make sure to inspect every page and have Locke comment on it.
Leave the car. Enter the house.
Pick up the Grand Moustache (1/4) from the shelf behind Mr. Armstrong.

Check the table.
Check the photo and flowers in the opposite corner.Go upstairs.
Enter Daisy’s room (pink door).

Leave and enter Ms. Moreau roon.

Select: I noticed Susanne was not around, but Daisy was sleeping peacefully. I stayed with her for ten minutes or so.
Leave and talk to Mrs. Armstrong in Daisy’s room.
Select: 10.11 pm to 10.45 pm (The record ending with 2140)
Leave and talk to Ms. Moreau again.
Lie: I had to make a quick phone call, no more than five minutes. But when I came back Daisy was gone.

Move the sofa, open the hatch.
Bomb puzzle 1: Rotate the dials so the number of dots on touching dials are the same. Set the top dial to have three dots at the top and then the bottom two to touch the top one with two and one dot respectively.
Bomb puzzle 2: (left) Press buttons: 2, 3, 4.
Bomb puzzle 3: (right) Disconnect the cables connecting the bombs. You can track them by rotating each circuit board and following the red cables and paths. Cut: top, bottom, middle.
