Agatha Christie – Murder On The Orient Express
This is the other game that stars Hercule Poirot – and it was the last Agatha Christie game that isn’t a hidden object game (HOG). Also, this is the only Agatha Christie game to require a disc for gameplay, if you have the physical copy.
Much like the other two Agatha Christie games (And Then There Were None & Evil Under The Sun), this one also has a playable character that isn’t in the book: Antoinette Marceau; the introduction to her is that she’s the representative from the train company, she’s also a fan of Poirot’s detective work.
The game begins with Antoinette chasing after Poirot in the town bazaar, trying to catch up with him. Along the way, she meets and interacts with most of the passengers.
When the game begins, watch the scene. This is a prologue to the case that started the whole story — details on this will be revealed later in the game.
The first obstacle in Antoinette’s way is Chef Klaus. Choose the cleaver in his left hand and when they move aside, continue forward.
Next see two of the passengers, Cyrus Hardman and Antoinio Foscarelli, discussing tiles: Antoinette has to get them a sample. Walk down and look at the goat by the barrels. Continue right, look at the stand and take a bowl. Return to Foscarelli & Hardman and use the bowl on them. Take the grains from the cart behind where Foscarelli was standing and go back to the goat. Use the grains on the goat and take the parasol.
Continue forward past Foscarelli & Hardman, and see two older women: Hildegarde Schmidt & Princess Dragomirnoff. Talk to them and give them the parasol. Continue forward.
See a homely woman: Greta Ohlsson. She her to the train.
See two men right outside of the station: Mr. Ratchett and Hector MacQueen. Select I don’t see what business that is of yours then must I summon the police to get Ratchett to let you past.
Enter the train station, walk left three times and see a couple: Colonel Arbuthnot and Mary Debenham. Listen to them talk and follow the path to the ticket attendant. Talk to him to give him your ticket. Walk forward to the train. Talk to Poirot & Michel.
Open inventory and select documents. Select Maps then Train Plan. Talk to Michel again and select Give Monsieur my room. I will be quite comfortable in the salon car.
